The South Florida Business Journal published its annual list of LGBTQ-Owned Companies, and Tentho tops the list at No. 4, after a record-setting year of growth in 2021.
Co-founder Giuseppe Garcia-Salamone started a bookkeeping business in 2017 to bring the power of financial expertise to small businesses that wanted to grow profitably. In 2020, he merged with another business that offered CFO advisory services, started by Helen Kakouris, which was the perfect compliment. The duo imagined a new way to offer accounting services, creating a Membership Model to make it easier for companies to leverage a powerful team of bookkeepers, accountants, CFOs, and tax professionals.
Together, Giuseppe and Helen, also a South Florida resident, expanded operations, doubled their customer count and tripled their employment base. “Tentho’s rapid growth comes from caring about our customers’ businesses and leveraging technology to provide an affordable and effective solution for our member-customers,” Giuseppe noted.
Tentho is based on the famous quote by Thomas Edison, arguably the most famous entrepreneur, who said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Giuseppe added, “We know how hard it is to grow a business and in celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit we share, we decided to rename our business Tentho™.
Giuseppe Garcia-Salamone and his partner, Ricky Garcia-Salamone have been married since 2012, and love Miami. “South Florida is the kind of place where you can have fun, raise a family, and build a successful business,” says Giuseppe.
